The mechanical outside-latch single-trip wellhead retrieving tool .The Rock’s Mechanical OutsideLatch Single-Trip Retrieving tool is a versatile device designed for wellhead and casing cutting during well abandonment operations. This tool is both cost-efficient and environmentally friendly, capable of cutting and retrieving wellheads up to 18-3/4 inches in diameter in a single trip, with minimal damage to the wellhead structure.
Unlike other systems that operate internally, this tool features mechanically activated arms that latch onto the exterior profile of the wellhead. This design eliminates the need for internal locking near sealing areas, thereby reducing potential damage to the wellhead.
The outside-latch mechanism also enhances cutting efficiency in open water, prevents cutting string instability, and significantly reduces cutting times. Additionally, the tool provides excellent lateral support when positioned over the wellhead, minimizing lateral movement and ensuring faster, smoother cutting operations.
Features:
• External latching design minimizes internal damage to the wellhead.
• Visual latch and unlatch confirmation ensures safe and dependable wellhead recovery.
• Excellent lateral support while attached over the wellhead eliminates most of the lateral whip for faster, smoother, more cost-effective cutting.
• Tensile cut keeps wellhead from turning for faster, smoother, more cost-effective cutting.
• Rig time is reduced with one-trip cut and recovery of wellhead.
Application
• Single-trip cutting and retrieval of wellheads to 18 3/4 in.
• Single-trip or conventional cutting and retrieval of 9 5/8-, 13 3/8-, 20-,and 30-in. Casing.
